Talking before it gets bad

16 October 2026 · 1 min read

We look after our bodies before things go wrong. We service the car, go to the dentist, eat (mostly) sensibly. Yet when it comes to our minds, most of us wait until we're really struggling before we talk to anyone.

By then, things have often built up. Stress at work becomes sleepless nights. A difficult relationship becomes a constant knot in the stomach. A loss we never properly talked about becomes something heavier.

And when we finally reach out, the options can feel limited. NHS waiting lists can be long. Private counselling isn't affordable for everyone. And a lot of people don't feel their problems are "serious enough" to deserve help at all.

Simply Heard sits in that gap.

We offer confidential sessions with a trained human listener, from £35, with no referrals and no long waiting lists. It's a place to offload early, while things are still small enough to put down. Think of it less as treatment and more as maintenance: regular space to say what's on your mind so it doesn't quietly grow.

You might book a session:

  • After a hard week, just to clear your head
  • When something's on your mind and you don't want to burden family or friends
  • While you're waiting for other support
  • Simply because you can't remember the last time someone really listened

You don't need to be at breaking point to deserve to be heard. In fact, the earlier you talk, the better.

If you're in crisis or worried about your safety, please contact NHS 111, call Samaritans free on 116 123, or dial 999 in an emergency.

When you're ready, we always have a chair for you.
